Diagnosis+: A Medical Second Opinion Service

For group insurance contracts including this service, Diagnosis+ allows insureds to obtain a valuable medical second opinion in the case of the diagnosis of a critical illness. This fully Canadian service is offered in partnership with the McGill University Health Centre.

This service will provide your physician with unique resources and expertise from highly qualified specialists. A medical specialist and team from the McGill University Health Centre will work with your treating physician to carry out a detailed analysis of your medical file in order to confirm the initial diagnosis and provide recommendations to help define a treatment plan that is best adapted to your situation.
   Medical conditions covered:
  • Stroke and related conditions
  • Diseases of the musculoskeletal system
  • Severe burns
  • Cancer
  • Coma
  • Kidney failure
  • Alzheimer�s disease
  • Neurological degenerative diseases (e.g.: multiple sclerosis)
  • Parkinson�s disease
  • Diseases requiring amputation
  • Cardiovascular disease and heart attack
  • Acute bone and lung disease
  • Loss of eyesight
  • Loss of speech
  • AIDS
  • Deafness
  • Vital organ transplant
  • Severe trauma
  • Other life-threatening conditions

Note: Costs related to file transfers as well as any related fees that may be charged by the treating physician, where applicable, are assumed by the insured. Please also note that certain conditions, exclusions and limitations may apply.
